Business Challenge Simulation Training Available for Teachers

The next simulation begins October 6, 2010

Teachers who have participated in the highly popular and successful High School Business Challenge, sponsored by the Montana Chamber Foundation, state that the initial training play an important part in the ease with which the simulation is played.  Live training will be available in Bozeman on September 26th, prior to the Economic Education Summit, and two Webinars will be conducted later that week.

The Business Challenge is an eight-week simulation in which the students are managing a Blu-Ray player manufacturing company.  Students are required to make decisions in the areas of price, plant size, amount of production, advertising, human resources, etc.  Decisions are made once a week, with each decision representing one quarter in the lifecycle of the business and resulting inputs are due each Wednesday.

The top three teams (statewide) that have the highest overall stock prices are awarded college scholarship monies by the Montana State Chamber Foundation.

If you want to participate and need to be trained, or would like further information, please contact Tim Alzheimer at mailto:timalz@montana.eduor 994-2263.  For a copy of the teacher’s manual and more information, go to www.mthsbc.com.
